Back to school Review and Giveaway - MOMables

It's finally dawned on me that its back to school tomorrow...

Yes, I have been trying to deny the fact!

It hit home after an attempt to go shoe shopping for son who lost a shoe on the last day of our road trip and daughter who managed to wear a hole in the top so her toe sticks out.

Now they have other shoes but they are not allowed to wear open toes and boots are a bit hot for Texas. The outcome of the crazy shopping trip,  where aisles were like battlefields and boxes kept falling on my head, was beside me realizing I need to shop ahead for shoes next year is that I also need to plan ahead for school lunches!

I pack lunches for three kids, five times a week. It often gets to Wednesday/Thursday and I don't have a clue what to put in their lunchboxes. This year I have been given the opportunity to try a great lunch planning service by MOMables so I can plan and shop prepare on the weekend and have the whole week organized with a healthy variety of foods.

So what is MOMables?

MOMables is a school lunch meal planning service that helps parents feed their kids a variety of lunches they will love. Their one simple plan approach has built in substitutions for vegetarian, gluten free and nut free options when needed (it is not a dairy free or vegan plan).

The plan has the menu with directions, photos, tips, prep ahead ideas and a shopping list. The plans are in full color so you can either save to your computer or device or you can print them and put in a recipe folder (they come in an easily printable format). I have been saving mine to my ipad to refer back to.

MOMables was started by Laura Fuentes, a mom of 3 kids under seven years old, to help other parents get out of the lunch packing rut. MOMables offers a weekly school lunch meal plan with 5 lunch ideasa prep-ahead sheet and a shopping list to help us busy parents feed our kids good food they will actually eat for only $6 per month!
So not only are ideas and recipes provided but you can print your shopping list so you can make sure you have everything you need. No more mid week grocery trips! There is lots of variety from completely new ideas to jazzed up old favorites. All the recipes are flexible enough to allow for substitutions or additions. So if you have a picky eater or kid with allergies no problem.
Laura has been kind enough to offer my readers a sample week of MOMables for FREE, when you sign  up for their weekly newsletter. It’s also loaded with free recipes, tips and so much more.

So What did I make?

I made MOMables mini quiches.

They were super easy and quick and from ingredients most have on hand and they are easy to change up.

I happened to have some bear silicone baking cups so thought this would be a good use for them. Although any muffin tins work and I made the rest in regular tins.

All packed in an EasyLunchbox

Lunchbots duo flower lunch

It's almost back to school time and the Lunchbots Duo.is a great option if you want a non plastic option. It is also a great option for adults wanting to portion control. The duo is all stainless and is available with either a stainless lid or several powder coated colored lid options.

It holds a 600ml and is 6" x 5" x 1.75"

Lunchbots Duo Flower Lunch

In this lunch I packed chicken fried rice with chillies and decorated it with a carrot, tomato and chilli flower. In the other side I packed a salad with spinach and mixed greens, tomatoes, grapes and blackberries.

The Lunchbots Duo is available either from Lunchbots direct where you will find a great line of Stainless lunch options including the UNO, Duo, Trio, Quad and thermal jars.
